You’ve me looking at Citroens, and I don’t even like Citroens all that much.

1964 Citroen Bijou, £14,995.

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C973256

This Bijou has just completed its restoration everything is fully rebuilt.

Cambridge blue with new red vinyl interior and headlining and carpet.

engine (425cc) gearbox, front and rear suspension, all new interior, new Michelin 125x15 correct period tyres, the car’s underside is rock solid with all four outriggers being recently replaced, is just through its MOT with no advisories, it is super rare, it still retains its original UK registration and with period number plates, it drives very well and is now ready for its new owner.

The Bijou is the least known of Citroën’s offerings. Built between 1959 and 1964 at the Slough factory for the U.K. market only, it was never made in left-hand drive form and never sold abroad, apart from 6 exported to Australia.

Of the approximately 211 made, there are records for around 150, with about 25 on the road or being restored, here and abroad. The engine is 425cc with Trafficlutch as standard. The body is fibreglass, on a 2CV chassis with Lucas electrics and parts from the Citroën DS, Citroën Traction, Morris and Triumph. The windows are all Bijou specific. These cars are rare now, and highly sought after. £14,995.

1974 Citroen GS Birotor Rotary saloon, £29,995.

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C970716

A very rare rotary engined Citroen GS Birotor which was only built between 1973 and 1975, which has survived in extremely good overall condition. This is an extremely rare example of Citroen’s venture into a Rotary Valve engine based on the NSU design, which was in production for a very short period with sold cars being bought back by Citroen and destroyed, resulting in very few remaining.

Purchased in France by its motor engineer owner, the car has been kept in extremely good condition. having covered only 74662 Kms (46664 miles) from new. In original gold and bronze two tone finish complimented by a tweed interior, the car is extremely original with only two small blemishes to the paintwork.

More information on the Citroen Birotor can be found at the following link to the “Petrolblogs” review of the model

I thought you might like some light heavy reading if you fancied it and couldn’t sleep. Lol.

A whole cornucopia of forgotten Citroens in that middle picture. A row of Visas, an LNA, another CX, some ZXs, a Xantia...

That’s quite a price. I saw one advertised in France about two years ago for €7,000. Unrestored but claimed to be rust free.

Both the rotary GS and the Bijou, I’ve never heard of before.

Just like in Architecture, my simplicity is the result of a horrendous amount of work.
